Client Case Study # 1:
A Customised, in-house Pricing Workshop

Industry Financial Services

The Challenge This company, one of only 30 that comprise the Dow Jones Industrial Average, wanted to better understand how its customers priced their products and services, so they could better understand and share in their value creation process
What We Did Working extensively with the Vice President of Pricing & Value, and the delegates themselves, we devised a highly customised in-house pricing workshop for 45 staff from across the Asia-Pacific region
The Result Overall, the groups’ understanding across 11 topical areas of pricing improved by 45 percentage points. In several areas, delegates gained a 70 percentage points (or higher) improvement in their knowledge and understanding of pricing.

Optimise the Launch Pricing for a New Service

Industry Telecommunications
Sector Business-to-Business (B2B)
The Challenge When it decided to establish a new business unit to sell a high-tech telecommunications service, this CAC Next 20 company turned to Sans Prix to make sure it had the right price
What We Did After an extensive industry and competitor review, we developed a new price catalogue for the client, along with reseller incentives and a medium-to-long term pricing strategy. The company subsequently retained Sans Prix for 12 months of on-going pricing support and pricing strategy consultations.
The Result This product is currently on track to generate between $US4.9mill - $US10.5mill in revenue per annum.

Devise New Pricing Methodology & Customer Migration Strategy

Industry Car Rental
Sector Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C)
The Challenge This start-up company was barely 12months old when it asked Sans Prix to help it devise and migrate customer to a new pricing methodology.
What We Did We started by conducting an international benchmarking exercise on the industry and its pricing models. We then completed an analysis of current price plan performance, and developed new price plans. Take-up and attrition rates under the new plans were modeled, and migration plans developed for 3 consumer and 3 business market segments.
The Result After a short time lag, during which customers were migrated from the legacy to the new price plans, revenue per member per month rose by 20%. This revenue uplift has been maintained, with any loss of customers, and the company now has a revenue line in excess of $A1mill.

Client Case Study # 4
Devise New Pricing Methodology

Industry Online Advertising
Sector Business-to-Business (B2B)
From sole proprietors and home-based business, through to SME’s and large corporate customers.
The Challenge This client, a subsidiary of an ASX100 company, initially sought to increase prices in two of its largest markets. In the end, it became an Australia-wide initiative that resulted in the introduction of an innovative value-based pricing regime.
What We Did Being one of the most highly-trafficked websites in Australia, we commenced this project with an analysis of the sites’ performance and quantification of the value delivered. A value-based pricing structure for a national advertising product was then devised and a socialisation & stakeholder management plan (including system requirements) across the organisation put into place. An advertiser migration plan was also created.
The Result This project delivered $A5mill in incremental revenue, with no change (from trend) in customer attrition
